Cate Blanchett, the Hollywood actress, has admitted that she has gained so much from being a mother and that she is happy to work her career around her children now they are starting school.
The 40-year-old mother of three is only recently out of
maternity clothes after giving birth to her youngest son 20 months ago and lives in the suburbs of Sydney with her playwright husband Andrew Upton.
But she insists that if an acting job comes up her first thought is the location and length of the shoot because she wants to ensure that her children are looked after, the Times reports.
" It has to work for my family, otherwise I can't do the job. With films it used to be a question of 'Who's directing it?', now it's 'How long is the shoot and where are they filming?'," she told the paper.
" All I can think about is what I've gained. I've had to say no to things because I was pregnant, but then I had a baby, so it didn't seem like a sacrifice."
Cate is famous for star turns in the movies Elizabeth and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
