Supermodel Gisele Bundchen has given a passionate defence of breastfeeding, urging all mothers to do it.
Writing on her blog recently, the mum-of-one explained how it can protect the health of both the mother and child and how, economically, it can be beneficial.
She also said that friends, families and employers should all do as much as they can to support mothers who want to breastfeed, while urging governments to provide protection for these women.
The wife of NFL superstar Tom Brady said: " The human species evolved and has kept breastfeeding their children for over 99.9 per cent of its existence.
" It is very important to continue investing in the promotion of breastfeeding for a better future for our children and the nation."
Gisele has often spoken about maternity issues in the past, explaining how she kept her slender frame during pregnancy by doing yoga three days a week.
She has also said she felt " blessed" to have given birth to her baby boy Benjamin, who is now almost six months old.
