Breastfeeding campaigners have urged the government to drop the 'breast is best' slogan as they feel it does not help persuade new mothers.
According to The Breastfeeding Network, the phrase makes breastfeeding seem like something special, when it should actually be considered the norm.
In a letter to the Department of Health, Lesley Backhouse, chair of The Breastfeeding Network, said: " We've got to knock breastfeeding off this pedestal.
" Breastfeeding is the only case where the biological norm is expressed as the exception rather than the rule."
She instead argues that more needs to be done to help women breastfeed and to do more to get across the heath risks that are associated with formula milk.
Of course, any new mothers wanting to make sure they can always naturally feed their new babies will want to get hold of some stylish breastfeeding tops.
Among those available from Seraphine are knitted tops in bamboo and cross-over t-shirts.
