Close all fastenings before washing. Wash separately.

How do I know if I have fitted my CARIPOD™ correctly?

Each CARIPOD™ comes with a step-by-step user guide.
There is also a downloadable PDF of our user guide available on our website. Throughout the user guide, there are fit tips to help guide you through each step.
We also have three instructional videos to help you set up each part of the carrier. You can access these by scanning the QR codes found on the front and back of your CARIPOD™ for on-the-go help, wherever you may be.

Your baby should not be able to slump or move out of their seat.

Do not over tighten so either you or your baby are uncomfortable.
The baby’s back should be relaxed so they are sitting in their natural curved seat position.
The baby’s legs should be in a hip healthy M position – this means their legs are bent at the knees and their knees are sitting slightly higher than their hips.

Ensure your baby is sitting high on your chest, close enough to kiss the top of their head.
You should be able to fit one hand flat between your baby and your chest.
Make sure you can see your baby’s face at all times to ensure their airways are kept clear of any obstructions and their chin is off their chest.

How do I know if my baby is positioned correctly in my CARIPOD™?

We have instructional videos to help you set up each part of the carrier. These include tips on how best to position your baby in the CARIPOD™. You can access these by scanning the QR codes found on the front and back of your CARIPOD™ for on-the-go help, wherever you may be.
Once correctly fitted, the CARIPOD™ should feel comfortably secure.
Your baby should not be able to slump or move out of their seat.

Do not over tighten so either you or your baby are uncomfortable.

When in the carrier, make sure the baby’s back is relaxed, and they are sitting in their natural curved seat position. When your baby is born, their spine is shaped like a C from being in the foetal position. Do not over tighten the chest strap, as this can cause baby’s back to arch.

The baby’s legs should be in a hip healthy M position – this means their legs are bent at the knees and their knees are sitting slightly higher than their hips. Their legs should not hang down straight.

Ensure your baby is sitting high on your chest, close enough to kiss the top of their head.
You should be able to fit one hand flat between your baby and your chest.
Make sure you can see your baby’s face at all times to ensure their airways are kept clear of any obstructions and their chin is off their chest.

I’ve followed the shoulder strap guide in the user guide, but the CARIPOD™ feels too loose – what do I do?

Check points for the harness:

  • If the harness feels too loose, you can keep reducing the shoulder strap number as needed until you achieve a secure, supportive fit
  • The waistline guides on the inside of the harness should sit in line with the narrowest part of your torso, or just above for the best fit
  • The lower part of the back panel on the harness should sit in the curve of your lower back to give the most supportive fit
  • Ensure you have tightened the waist straps securely when attaching the POD to the Harness at the waist panel. If the waist straps are too loose, you will not achieve a secure fit on the body
Check points for the POD:
  • Ensure you have picked the correct seat setting based on the age of your baby
  • The seat settings guide is only a guide, as each baby is different. If your baby is bigger than average, you may need to increase the seat setting size earlier. If your baby is smaller than average, you may need to stay on a smaller setting for longer
  • Ensure you have fastened all the buckles and tightened all the straps
Once correctly fitted, the CARIPOD™ should feel comfortably secure.
Your baby should not be able to slump or move out of their seat.

Is the CARIPOD™ suitable for newborn babies?

The CARIPOD™ is designed and safety tested to be used for full-term newborn babies weighing a minimum of 7lbs/3.2kg.
Do not use the CARIPOD™ for babies below this weight or born before their due date and consult your paediatrician for advice.

Do I need any additional infant inserts or attachments for my newborn?

No, there are no additional inserts needed. The CARIPOD™ adapts to your growing baby and toddler.
For full-term newborns, the seat area of the POD should be set on its smallest seat setting.
The neck support should also be turned inwards to sit on the inner side of the POD and then secured in place with the toggles at each side of the neck support. By turning the neck support inwards, this creates a snugger seating area suitable for full-term newborn babies.

Is the CARIPOD™ suitable for toddlers?

The CARIPOD™ is designed and safety tested for use up to a maximum weight of 33lbs/15kg.

What size parent does the CARIPOD™ fit?

The CARIPOD™ is designed to fit women’s UK size 6–26 and men’s UK size XS-XXXL.
It is suitable for heights 4’11” to 6’6”.

Is the CARIPOD™ suitable for men and women?

Yes, the CARIPOD™ has been designed to fit both mums and dads.
The back part of the CARIPOD™ has built in panels that can flex and adapt to both curvier and straighter figures. The sides panels of the harness have also been designed to flex so they can adapt to a changing bust size.

When can I start wearing my baby in the CARIPOD™ in the outward facing position?

Your child must face towards you until he or she can hold their head upright unassisted.
We recommend waiting until 6 months of age to wear your baby in the outward facing position.
Your baby should not sleep in the outward facing position. This is so you can keep your baby’s face in sight to ensure their airways are clear and their chin is off their chest.

How do I choose between an inward facing position and outward facing position for my baby?

Your child must face towards you until he or she can hold their head upright unassisted.
An outward facing position is only suitable for older babies – we recommend waiting until 6 months of age. Before this age, your baby will not yet have gained the neck strength to hold their head up unassisted and their back and hips are still developing. While in the CARIPOD™, make sure you can see your baby’s face at all times to ensure their airways are clear and their chin is off their chest.

Do I need any additional attachments for the outward facing position?

No, the seat area of the POD adapts to change to an outward facing position.

How long can I carry my baby for in my CARIPOD™?

As long as you and your baby are comfortable.

While in the CARIPOD™, make sure you can see your baby’s face at all times to ensure their air-ways are clear and their chin is off their chest. Monitor your baby at all times to read their signals and check their seat position. Whenever your baby is sleeping, ensure their head and neck are fully supported.
You will find that between feeding and baby-changes you’ll naturally find a period of time that suits both you and your baby. While your baby is young, it is recommended they do not stay in any fixed position for an extended period of time.

How do I open the buckles at the front of the shoulder strap?

While always holding baby secure with one hand, use your other hand to disconnect a shoulder buckle. Squeeze the buttons on either side of the buckle and slide in an upwards motion to discon-nect the shoulder buckle.

Click here to see a video of how to open the buckles at the front of the shoulder strap.

How do I close the buckles at the front of the shoulder strap?

Hold the front part of the shoulder buckle attached to the POD and position it just above the con-nector point found on your shoulder strap. Slide it in a downwards motion onto the connector point until you hear a click to ensure you have a secure connection.

Click here to see a video of how to close the buckles at the front of the shoulder strap.

How do I open the hook for setting the numbered shoulder strap length at the back of the shoulder strap?

Hold the hook in one hand with your finger on the top edge of the hook and your thumb at the bottom edge of the hook. Then squeeze to release the metal locking hook.

If the hook is already attached to the numbered strap, pull the strap to the opposite side from the metal locking hook. This will make space for your finger to grasp the hook. Then squeeze your fin-ger and thumb to release the metal locking hook.

After you have set or reset your strap position, always make sure the metal locking hook is clicked back in place to secure.

Click here to see a video of how to open the hook.

How many different positions can I carry my baby in the CARIPOD™?

There are two options – inward facing or outward facing.
For the inward facing position, there are three different settings depending on the age of your baby. The seat area of the POD adapts to support your growing baby.
The outward facing position has one seat position.

How do I choose the correct neck support setting for my baby?

Choose the appropriate neck support position based on the age of your baby, if they are sleeping and if they are inward or outward facing.

There are four different neck support positions you can choose from.
Click here to be taken to our video showing how to set up the neck support.
Before 6 months of age and whenever your baby is sleeping, ensure their head and neck are fully supported. Your baby should not sleep in the outward facing position. This is so you can keep your baby’s face in sight to ensure their airways are clear and their chin is off their chest.

What materials are used to make the CARIPOD™?

The fabric composition varies between the different styles. Please see the shopping page for information about your specific CARIPOD™.

Why is there elastic at the ends of all the straps?

Click here to see a video of how to use the elastic loops.

Can my baby sleep in the carrier?

Yes. While your baby is sleeping, make sure you choose the appropriate neck support based on their age and size.

Always keep your baby’s face in sight to ensure their airways are clear and their chin is off their chest. For this reason, your baby should not sleep in the outward facing position.

What should my baby wear in the CARIPOD™?

When dressing your baby, you should always consider that any baby carrier counts as one layer of clothing. While in the CARIPOD™, the baby will also be snuggled against you so they will also take on some of your own body heat. Be conscious not to overdress your baby. It’s best to dress them in layers so you can adapt as needed – especially if you’re going from being outside to inside.
Focus on making sure their head, hands and feet are dressed appropriately for the climate you’re in and adapt the layers on their body as needed.

Can I breastfeed while wearing the CARIPOD™?

The CARIPOD™ is designed to be feeding friendly, meaning you can unfasten the buckles at the front and sit down to nurse or bottle feed your baby in comfort.
We do not advise you to feed your child while carrying them in the CARIPOD™.
